Palm is now offering an unlocked version of the Palm Centro to U.S. customers.
The unlocked Palm Centro retains the smartphone’s compact, modern design and is dressed in a new white color with grey accents. Centro offers customers more choices to stay in touch with friends, family and co-workers by using voice, text messaging, email or the web.
The Palm Centro runs the PalmOS 5.4.9 and comes with a full QWERTY thumb keyboard, a 320×320 touchscreen display, 64MB available user storage, Bluetooth 1.2, a 1.3MP camera, and a microSD expansion slot. The unlocked Palm Centro also comes with quad-band (850/900/1800/1900MHz) GSM/GPRS/EDGE connectivity.
Palm also announced that Google Maps for mobile with My Location will be available for the Centro smartphone as a download (available as of June 24th).
The unlocked Palm Centro is only available at www.palm.com/centro for USD$299.
