The third beta of Fennec, Mozilla’s mobile device browser, is now available but only for Maemo devices, namely the Nokia N800 and N810 Internet tablets. The focus for this third release was on improving the user experience, bug fixes and performance.
Here is what you’ll find in Fennec 1.0 Beta 3:
- Redesigned and much faster scrolling
- Major visual theme refresh
- New tile caching abilities allowing more of the page to be saved as you pan around
- Improved kinetic panning with directional locking
- Improved zooming support
- Ability to scroll iframes
- Numerous other bugs and polish issues addressed
Desktop builds are also available for Windows, Mac, and Linux. An earlier beta is also available for Windows Mobile 6.
