O2 Xda Guide

The HTC Iolite which was revealed prior to its official debut is headed to O2 in Germany. Replacing the Xda orbit 2, it will be offered as the O2 Xda Guide in mid-February.

The O2 Xda Guide will be powered by a 528MHz Qualcomm MSM 7225 processor and Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional and TouchFLO 2D (rather than the 3D version seen on devices such as the HTC Touch Diamond). It will come with quad-band (850/900/1800/1900MHz) GSM/GPRS/EDGE and dual-band (900/2100MHz) HSDPA/HSUPA connectivity, a 2.8-inch QVGA touchscreen display, 256MB RAM and 512MB ROM, aGPS, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, a 3.2MP camera, and a microSD expansion slot. It will feature an exclusive 02 design.

The purpose of the mysterious Footprints button has been revealed as well. It will let users take photos directly from the TouchFLO user interface. Where GPS is available, the pictures will also be geotagged.

O2 Germany will also include a 1GB microSD card loaded with TomTom 7 with maps for Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
