Pandora coming to Android

PandoraAfter the iPhone, Windows Mobile, the BlackBerry and webOS operating systems, Pandora has set its sights on Google Android. According to Tom Conrad, the company’s Chief Technology Officer, Pandora is already at work on a client for Android.

Pandora for Android is under development now. We’re a startup and sometimes the world has a way of stepping in and changing priorities, but assuming that doesn’t happen, our plan is for Android to be the next big mobile platform launch for us.

No target date has been given for the release of Pandora for Android.

In the meantime, Pandora has released an update to Pandora for BlackBerry. Version 1.1 adds stereo AAC+ (HE-AAC) for both Wi-Fi and mobile connections, a new overlay when changing volume to better see the actual volume level, a reduced download size, and more. Point your BlackBerry browser to http://www.pandora.com to download and install the app. It is also available on on BlackBerry App World.
