When an 8MP camera phone is just not enough, there’s Idou… Sony Ericsson may have just announced the 8MP W995 but it is already reaching for a new goal. It showed off the first 12MP camera phone, the Idou (concept name only) during a press event on the eve of the Mobile World Congress.
The Idou will be powered by a new Symbian Foundation operating system. This new OS will support touchscreen displays such as the 3.5-inch one of the Idou. From the video, it appears that the Idou will only have a soft keyboard and that the display will have a 16:9 aspect ratio. Other details about the Idou, aside from that 12MP camera with autofocus and Xenon flash, should be revealed later.
