During the same interview where the ASUS showed off the upcoming Transformer Prime tablet, company chairman, Jonney Shih, also revealed that the ASUS Padfone, its smartphone-tablet hybrid, will finally be released in 2012 with Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). It had been originally slated for release before the end of the year.
Shih added that ASUS is hoping to have the Padfone out in Q1 2012 but that discussions with carriers are still ongoing and could push the release date out further.
