AT&T Windows Phone Mango updates to start next week?

Microsoft Windows PhoneMicrosoft was not joking when it said that the Windows Phone Mango update was coming in “the next week or two.” Some internal emails obtained by WPCentral.com suggest that AT&T will begin pushing it out to its customers as early as next week. The roll-out schedule depends on the device though.

First up will be the HTC Surround and the LG Quantum with deployment to begin on September 27th. The HTC HD7S update will then follow in early to mid October. The Samsung Focus will see a two tier roll-out. Devices with hardware profile version 1.3 will start getting the update on September 27th but the version 1.4 devices will not see it until the end of October as the “update has not entered the AT&T SPE lab yet.”

The updates will be done through the Zune software.

Customers should receive notifications when the update is ready for their devices.
