Motorola begins pushing non-US Android 3.1 Motorola XOOM updates

Motorola XOOM

Motorola today announced that it has begun to push out Android 3.1 updates outside of the United States. The announcement came from Motorola Europe via Facebook:

The 3.1 update for Motorola XOOM outside the U.S. has started. Owners in Europe can expect updates over the next several weeks until the roll out is complete. The 3.1 update for non-U.S. devices, in addition to many other improvements, also includes SD card activation. Release notes will be made available in each region, functionality varies by region.

As the message implies, Motorola will push the update out gradually so you may have to wait a while longer to see it arrive on your XOOM.

There is still no word from Motorola Canada on when it will begin to push out the update here. Hopefully, the European news does mean that we will not have to wait months for it though.
