Motorola XOOM Android 3.2 update now rolling out to Verizon customers

Motorola XOOMFollowing a more limited deployment that started a couple of weeks ago, Motorola last night confirmed that it has begun to push out the Android 3.2 system update for the Motorola XOOM on Verizon. Identified as ‘software update HTJ85’ by Motorola, it brings with it a number of improvements including:

  • Screen Scaling Compatibility Mode which lets you switch to double pixel mode for selected applications
  • microSD card support
  • Adaptive streaming support for movies which adjusts the bit rate based on bandwidth
  • Movie Rental app improvements
  • New EAS policy which includes “Allow Password Recovery” and improvements to Exchange ActiveSync and security

The HTJ85 comes in at 15.4MB and the complete update process should take you about 15 minutes.
