Oracle asks for up to US$6.1 billion in Google Android lawsuit

Google Android logoRemember that lawsuit filed by Oracle against Google over over patent and copyright infringement allegations in Android? Documents now made public reveal that Oracle is asking for damages that range from US$1.4 billion to US$6.1 billion. Google, for its part, called the amount being sought “a breathtaking figure that is out of proportion to any meaningful measure of the intellectual property at issue.”

The trial is expected to begin next fall.
