Research In Motion today announced that a new BlackBerry Tablet OS update is now available. Among the new features BlackBerry Tablet OS v1.0.5 offers are:
- Facebook for BlackBerry PlayBook: Now preloaded and includes video uploading, message deletion, Facebook search enhancements and more
- In-App Payments support for PlayBook apps
- Improved PlayBook charging functionality including charging while powered down and incorrect charger warnings
- Additional language support: Adds French, Italian, Dutch, German, Spanish, and UK English
- Improved video chat connectivity with support for TURN (Traversal Using Relay NAT) protocol
- Automatic Wi-Fi hotspot detection
- Headset Audio Boost: Adds additional level of volume for noisier areas
Existing PlayBook owners will receive a software update notification or can check by using the Software Update feature under ‘Settings.’ New PlayBook users will receive the update automatically as part of the BlackBerry PlayBook setup process.
