Apple iPhone 5 pre-orders start at 12:01 AM PST September 14th

Apple iPhone 5Yesterday, Apple unveiled the iPhone 5 and announced that it would begin to take pre-orders on September 14th for Canada and the U.S. (and a number of other countries). The only missing detail was exactly what time would pre-orders begin. We now know that they will start at 12:01AM PDT (or 03:00AM EST).

It will be possible to pre-order the Apple iPhone 5 either directly through Apple or via Canadian carriers that are confirmed launch partners, namely Bell, Fido, Koodo, Rogers, TELUS, and Virgin Mobile.

If staying up late to place your pre-order is not your cup of tea, you will be able to pick up the iPhone 5 starting on September 21st. Be prepared to wait in line though…

The Apple iPhone 5 will sell for CA$699 for the 16GB model, CA$799 for the 32GB model, and CA$899 for the 64GB model with no contract directly from Apple.

Update: Bell has given us the first clue as to contract pricing in Canada. It will start at CA$179.95 with a three-year contract presumably for the 16GB model.
