ASUS Transformer Pad 300 to begin shipping in U.S. on April 22nd?

ASUS Transformer Pad 300ASUS is set to start shipping the Transformer Pad 300 in the U.S. starting on April 22nd. Confirmation came to PC World courtesy of an email sent by an ASUS spokeswoman. Whether Canada benefits from a similar shipping date remains to be seen.

ASUS will pitch its quad-core tablet (with optional LTE) as a laptop replacement. Very similar to the Transformer Prime, it will come with a plastic body that should address Wi-Fi and GPS issues experienced by its sibling.

Pricing was not provided but is expected to be lower than for the Transformer Prime. Some online retailer listings (now pulled down) have suggested that it could sell for US$379 for the 16GB model and US$399 for the 32GB model.

There is no word on when the Transformer Pad Infinity tablet, which features a 10.1-inch FHD (1920×1200) Super IPS+ display, will ship. When the two models had been announced, it had indicated that the Pad Infinity would ship first. We’ll have to see if that still holds true.
