Google announces Android 4.1.2

Google today released Android 4.1.2 to AOSP (Android Open Source Project). Billed as a “minor” update, the full changelog has not been published. Shortly after, it also began pushing out the update to its Google Nexus 7 tablet. So far we know that it “improves performance and stability and fixes bugs” and adds a landscape app launcher mode to the Nexus 7.

The build number is JZO54K and the AOSP tag is android-4.1.2_r1.

It is likely that the update will also make its way to the Google Nexus S, Galaxy Nexus and Motorola XOOM tablets in the near future.

The update has not yet made it to my Nexus 7. It is likely that Google will stagger the deployment so we will need to be patient…
