Google begins updating Galaxy Nexus HSPA+ devices to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean

Samsung Galaxy NexusGoogle last night announced that it has begun to push Android 4.1 Jelly Bean to Galaxy Nexus HSPA+ devices. Users should see an update prompt within the “next few days.” The push is currently limited to the HSPA+ devices but will be expanded to all Galaxy Nexus devices in the future (as well as the Google Nexus S and Motorola XOOM).

Jelly Bean makes everything feel fast, fluid, and smooth. Notifications are expandable and actionable, widgets are magical and the keyboard is smarter and more accurate.

The move comes one day after Google released the source code to AOSP where it was tagged as android-4.1.1_r1. Binaries for the Google Nexus 7 and Galaxy Nexus are already available. Binaries for the Google Nexus S and Motorola XOOM will follow hopefully soon.
