As part of its “Be Bold” campaign,Research In Motion last week launched a new contest giving away a BlackBerry Bold, its current flagship device, every day until May 31st. A total of 70 devices are up for grabs for users in Canada and the U.S.
As if RIM could afford to further ostracize non-BlackBerry users, the contest is heavily geared towards current BlackBerry owners. Two of the three ways to enter the contest require that you already have a BlackBerry device. As the contest points out: “Not a BlackBerry smartphone owner? Check out BlackBerry smartphones.” The third option, open to all, is to mail in personal details on a 3″ x 5″ sheet of paper.
RIM’s “Be Bold” marketing campaign has done little to turn the company’s fortunes around and many expect another dismal quarter when it announces its latest financial results later this week.
