Rumour: Nokia Lumia 910 to be first Windows Phone 8 device

The Nokia Lumia 910 is the topic of rumours again. The last time it was spotted, it was supposed to be a Lumia 900 variant that would lose LTE connectivity but gain a 12MP camera. It has now allegedly resurfaced on Nokia’s Remote Device Access program, an online tool that allows developers to remotely test their apps on a number of Nokia devices. According to Dutch site Nieuwemobiel.nl, it is now one of the device options available.

Nieuwemobiel.nl goes on to speculate that the Nokia Lumia 910 could well be Nokia’s first Windows Phone 8 device. For its part, WMPoweruser suggests instead that the Lumia 910 could be a “a Lumia 900 variant, possibly with a differentiator like 32 GB storage, to keep the market going while we wait for the real Windows Phone 8 handsets to arrive.” Would Nokia really launch another Windows Phone 7.5 or 7.8 handset knowing that they will not be upgraded to Windows Phone 8? Perhaps if it is a European variant as initially thought.
