Samsung Galaxy S II tops sales of 20 million in 10 months

Samsung Galaxy S IISamsung today announced that its Galaxy S II (model GT-I9100) has topped sales of 20 million units into global channels since its launch less than a year ago. According to JK Shin, President and Head of Mobile Communications Business:

“Since its launch in late April 2011, the Galaxy S II has seen tremendous growth reflecting its tremendous popularity with customers around the world. We are thrilled that 20 million customers around the world has [sic] enjoyed the smart life Galaxy S II has brought us. We will continue to introduce products to satisfy our customers’ high expectation.”

Samsung will launch the Galaxy S II’s successor, the Galaxy S III, sometime after next week’s Mobile World Congress but still within the first half of the year.
