We may now have an official name to go along with the leaked pictures of the Sony (Ericsson) ST25i ‘Kumquat.’ Posted on the Indonesian Telecoms Regulatory body’s website (a body similar to the U.S.’ FCC) is an entry that suggests it could be known as the Sony Ericsson Xperia U. With Sony acquiring Ericsson’s share in their joint venture, it is likely that the Ericsson portion of the name will be dropped as we have already seen with the Sony Xperia S and Sony Xperia ion.
If this is in fact the final device name, it would suggest that Sony could be using a single letter theme for some of its 2012 devices (like the Xperia S).
