Android 4.3.1 rolling out to LTE Nexus 7 (2013)

2013 Google Nexus 7

Google has begun to push out a small Android update to the LTE version of the Nexus 7 (2013) tablet. Android 4.3.1 weighs in at about 10MB and appears to be no more than a small maintenance release. Even the build number, JLS36I, is not a majpr bump over build version JLS36C that first shipped with the tablet. At the same time, it is the first time that Google has incremented the version number on Android 4.3 despite patching a number of issues previously.

The changelog reveals little except to promise improved performance and stability. Even the radio files remain unchanged at DEB-G00_2.25.1_0802.

With Android 4.4 KitKat just around the corner, this is likely just Google mopping up issues and making sure bugs are closed in preparation for Android 4.4 upgrades once KitKat is officially unveiled (along with the Google Gem smartwatch?).
