More evidence Apple readying 4.8-inch iPhone 6

Apple

Rumours that Apple was working on an iPhone with a 4.8-inch display first surfaced very early this year. At one point, the “iPhone Math” was to have launched this year. Instead, Apple unveiled the iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S, both of which continue to use the 4-inch display introduced with the iPhone 5. But the rumours that Apple will unveil an iPhone with a larger display refuse to die (perhaps for good reason).

Following reports from The Wall Street Journal and KGI Securities analyst Ming-chi Kuo, Jefferies & Co. analyst Peter Misek is the latest to believe that Apple will indeed release a new iPhone with a larger display next year.
In a research note sent to investors, Misek indicates that the iPhone 6 will have a 4.8-inch display and that it could “catalyze a large upgrade cycle.”

Manufacturers such as Motorola and Samsung have demonstrated that larger displays can now be accomodated without significantly increasing the size of a device thanks to recent advances including very thin bezels.

Until Apple is ready to release a larger iPhone, Misek expects that it will continue to fare well as it continues to obtain favorable prices from its component suppliers.
