Google Canada launches Nexus 7 (2013) registration page

Google Nexus 7 (2013)While some Canadian online retailers have begun to take pre-orders for the 16GB version of Nexus 7 (2013) in expectation of shipments as early as July 30th, Google has for far only indicated that it will launch in the “coming weeks.” But in a sign that the launch is coming, it has put up a registration page where people can sign up to find out when it does go on sale:

Nexus 7 brings you the perfect mix of power and portability, and features the world’s sharpest 7″ tablet screen.

Sign up today and we’ll give you a heads up when you can get your new Google Nexus 7, on Google Play or at a retailer near you.

The new Nexus 7 is both slimmer (by about 2 millimeters) and lighter (by about 50 grams). It improves on its predecessor with a faster processor, a higher-resolution display and the addition of a rear 5MP camera.

The 16GB of the Google Nexus 7 (2013) is expected to sell for CA$249 and the 32GB one for CA$289. It remains to be seen if the LTE-enabled 32GB model will launch here as well (and if so, when).

Similar registration pages have also launched in Australia, France, Germany, India, Japan, South Korea, Spain and the UK.

Let us know below if you will order one (or if you already have).

  1. I’m holding out for the 32 GB model. I don’t care where I buy it from, though I think I’d prefer direct from Google as opposed to Future Shop. That way, they won’t try to convince me that I need a Product Service Plan. 😛

  2. Waiting for the Chromecast and the 32GB Nexus 7 2013 and/or the LTE Version in Canada.
