Following leaked pictures earlier this week, the HTC M8, HTC’s next flagship smartphone, is once again the topic of rumours. This time, we have details about its upcoming launch. As we expected, it looks like the HTC M8 will launch sometime in the first quarter of 2014.
It also looks like all four major U.S. carriers (AT&T, Sprint Wireless, T-Mobile USA and Verizon Wireless) will offer the HTC M8 when it launches.
Let’s hope that we see similar availability across a number of carriers in Canada.
As for the HTC M8 itself, past rumours suggest a device with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, HTC Sense 6.0, a display in the 5- to 5.2-inch range with a 2K (2048×1080) resolution, 3GB of RAM and a fingerprint scanner. While it would inherit many of the design traits of the HTC One, it looks to be made of a single piece of aluminium rather than two.
HTC is not currently listed among International CES 2014 exhibitors at this point. This suggests that HTC may opt for an announcement later and possibly at a dedicated event rather than a tradeshow much as it did last year with the HTC One.
