Huawei today announced that its Huawei Y300 smartphone is now available in Canada through Bell Mobility and Virgin Mobile Canada. This entry-level Android smartphone promises to deliver a “quality Android smartphone at an attractive price.”

“Having successfully launched the Ascend Y201 with Virgin Mobile, we’re excited to bring an even faster and more powerful Huawei smartphone to the Canadian marketplace. Leveraging all the capabilities of 4G networks, the Y300 offers Bell Mobility and Virgin Mobile customers the great features and quality construction that both new and seasoned smartphone users will appreciate,” said Huawei Canada President Sean Yang.

Virgin Mobile Canada is offering the Huawei Y300 for CA$99 with pre-paid plans. Bell does not yet list the Y300 on its website but it will also be available through its retail partners Best Buy and Future Shop.

Available in black, the Huawei Ascend Y300 runs on Android 4.1, has a vibrant 4.0 inch screen and a 5.0 megapixel camera with video recording capabilities. It also has voice command capabilities, which allow the user to make calls and compose text messages hands-free. For less than $100, the Ascend Y300 is available on Canada’s largest 4G network from Bell Mobility retail partners Best Buy and Future Shop. Virgin Mobile retail locations will also carry the smartphone, along with retail partners Loblaws, The Source and Walmart.
