Nokia Lumia 929 headed to Verizon

Rumoured Nokia Lumia 929Nokia is not quite done launching smartphones this year. The Verge reports that it is about to unveil its second aluminium Windows Phone device, the Nokia Lumia 929 bound for Verizon Wireless as an exclusive. It’s not the first time that we’ve heard about the Lumia 929 and details appear pretty much unchanged since that first leak. It is expected to replace the Nokia Lumia 928.

As expected, the Lumia 929 appears to sport a 5-inch Full HD (1080×1920) display and a 20MP PureView camera that should be very similar to the one on the 6-inch Nokia Lumia 1520 phablet. It will be running Windows Phone 8 GDR3. Black and silver variants are on tap for the launch.

A short video gives us a glimpse at the device:

As for a release date, the report adds that Verizon has nearly completed its certification and that it will debut “shortly.” WPCentral forum users peg the launch date as around the U.S. Thanksgiving.

Verizon could unveil the Nokia Lumia 525, a 4.5-inch device, alongside as a cheaper alternative to the Lumia 929.
