Pacific Rim app hits Google Play days before theatrical release

Pacific Rim Mobile Game

Just a day before its theatrical release, the Pacific Rim game app is listed in Google Play Store for a hefty US$4.99, destroying your pocket book as much as the Kaiju monsters try to destroy the world, so choose wisely, Grasshopper.

I have seen the previews and the movie appears to be a constant battle between the monsters (Kaiju) that rise up from the oceans to destroy the earth and the man-made monsters (Jaeger) that are controlled by a human inside the framework of the monster. It is the classic scenario of good rising up to defeat evil. An old theme to be sure, but one I never tire of seeing.  Check out the video below and see what you think.

Exclusive Features listed in the app description are as follows:

  • Story Mode: Play over 30 levels and challenge monstrous creatures in intense combat inspired by the motion picture.
  • Survival Mode: Can you defend humanity from an endless wave of Kaiju? See how skilled you are with your customized Jaeger.
  • Command up to five different Jaegers with custom equipment and technology.
  • Upgrade your Jaegers and weapons to dominate the battlefield.
  • Discover and research new technology to increase your armor, power and speed.
  • The game explores the Pacific Rim universe with new events, Jaegars, and Kaiju not fully revealed in the film.

Let us know in the comments, how the gameplay stacks up against the movie and if you got you US$5.00 worth of entertainment.
