Most of the details about the next generation of Kindle Fire HD tablets have already been leaked but we were still missing pictures. BGR has now taken care of that with a series of photos of the upcoming 7-inch Kindle Fire HD tablet. There are no pictures (yet) of its larger 8.9-inch sibling but it is reportedly no different except for being slightly larger.
The new 7-inch Kindle Fire HD will be powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 (MSM8974) and a heavily customized version of Google Android, this time likely based on Android 4.2.2. It will also come with a 7-inch WUXGA (1920×1200) display, 2GB of RAM, 16GB, 32GB or 64GB of internal storage, optional cellular connectivity, Wi-Fi and a front-facing camera.
The 8.9-inch Kindle Fire HD will feature a higher-resolution WQXGA (2560×1600) display and add an 8MP rear-facing camera. Other specifications should be identical to those of its smaller sibling.
Like last year, Amazon may opt for a staggered rollout after the announcement. Up first will likely be the 7-inch model in the coming weeks with the 8.9-inch model to follow sometime in November.
Amazon recently launched its new Kindle Paperwhite eReader.
