Samsung to launch 12-inch Android tablet in October

Samsung Name

Not only are smartphones getting larger but so are tablets. Rumours have hinted at a Samsung 12-inch Android tablet for some time. A report by The Korea Economic Daily suggests that anonymous industry sources now expect it to launch sometime in October.

Details are light and suggest that the tablet will use an LCD display supplied by Samsung Display. It also promises a resolution higher than Full HD.

It is likely that this tablet is none other than the SM-P900 revealed last month. Specifications align fairly well with the SM-P900 which reportedly packs a 12.2-inch WQXGA (2560×1600) display and support for Samsung’s S-Pen technology along with a Samsung Exynos 5 Octa processor. The SM-P900 (along with a number of variants) was effectively confirmed by UAProf (User-Agent Profile) files found on Samsung’s website.

Should this massive tablet launch in October, Samsung may well unveil it at Unpacked 2013 Episode 2 on September 4th as an additional Galaxy Note model. It could also be joined by a smaller 10-inch model known as the SM-P600.
