Sony teases upcoming Honami ahead of announcement

Sony IFA 2013 Honami teaserIf you need further proof that Sony plans to unveil its latest flagship smartphone at IFA 2013, Sony’s latest teaser should set your doubts aside. Without mentioning any names, Sony is promising us that “It’s the smartphone everyone’s been talking about…” As for the announcement: “Not long now”

The Honami teaser comes with a close-up of a power button that we’ve seen on other Sony smartphones.

As for the Sony Honami’s street name, the current theory is that it will be known as the Xperia Z1. Earlier theories had suggested the Xperia i1.

As for specifications, we expect the Sony Honami to come with a 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, LTE connectivity, a 5-inch FHD (1080×1920) Triluminos display, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of onboard storage, a 20.7MP rear camera with a 1 2/3-inch Exmor RS sensor and Sony G-lens and a 3,000mAh battery. It should also be dustproof and waterproof like the Xperia Z and Xperia Z Ultra.

All should be revealed at Sony’s September 4th IFA event but we can probably expect a few more teasers between now and then.
