Three U.S. carriers onboard for Moto X launch

Rumoured Motorola Moto X

Three of the four major U.S. carriers are set to carry the Motorola Moto X when it launches later this summer. According to 9to5Google‘s “Motoleaker,” AT&T, Sprint and Verizon are onboard while T-Mobile has yet to finalize any arrangements with Motorola.

The report adds that Moto X shipments will begin in August with availability in time for the back to school season. Past reports have suggested that a late August launch date is in the cards. One report indicated the smaller carrier U.S. Cellular would launch the Moto X on August 26th. A separate report, this one for Rogers Wireless, also suggests an August launch albeit as a carrier exclusive in Canada.

Despite rumours of a range of customization options, the Moto X may only be available in Black, White and a limited number of colours at launch. More colours and options like engraving and custom wallpapers could launch later.

Motorola will unveil the Moto X on August 1st in New York City. Specific availability and pricing have not been announced although the unsubsidized price could be as low as US$300.
