The rumours earlier this week that Google could be readying some new colour options for the Google Nexus 5 were built on some questionable evidence. As intriguing as the idea was, it just appeared to be more of a hoax than a genuine leak. Now a second rumour appears to be pointing again to Google readying some new colours for the Nexus 5 after all.
The latest image comes to us via Vietnam. It reportedly shows a production sample of a red Nexus 5. Production model are expected to follow in late February or March. It could be introduced along with a yellow model. No other colours are mentioned. It’s also not clear if these new colours will hit all Google Play markets or will be limited to a select number instead.
Modaco’s Paul Brien has also waded into the debate, suggesting that this image is also a fake but that Google is indeed working on new shades for its Nexus smartphone.
Note: Nexus 5 coloured version leaks are nowhere near representative of the colours of the actual products. Bad 'shops. Surprises to come.

As we said before, keep this new Google Nexus 5 colours story squarely in the rumour category for now. The evidence presented so far simply does not add up quite right .
