Recent rumours suggested that Google launch its Project Tango tablet by mid-November. It now appears that those rumours were correct. Project Tango quietly popped up on Google Play. Unfortunately, it is not yet available for sale with the U.S. site simply saying that “the device is not for sale at this time” while the Canadian one suggests it will not make it here anytime soon: “Project Tango Tablet Development Kit (White) is not available in your country.”
Project Tango is billed as a device “for professional developers interested in the future of mobile 3D sensing.” Sporting an array of sensors allowing it to perform advanced motion and spatial tracking, Project Tango is effectively aware of its surroundings.
