LG G3 to sport 5.5-inch QHD display and advanced personalization features?

LG Display quad HD smartphone displayInformation about LG’s next flagship smartphone continues to emerge. Following the revelation of potential model numbers and a UAProf file earlier this week, a source within LG has told PhoneArena that the LG G3 will sport a 5.5-inch WQHD (2560×1440) display as well as “advanced personalization” features.

While a number of rumours have already hinted at the LG G3 coming with a WQHD display, this report is the first to call out that it will measure 5.5 inches diagonally. It certainly makes sense given that LG unveiled a 5.5-inch WQHD AH-IPS LCD panel for smartphones last August. At that resolution, it managed to pack an impressive 538 pixels per inch.

On the software side, we can expect the LG G3 to come with “advanced personalization” features. Details are slim and it’s not even clear if these come from further advances Google is planning to Google Now or if LG is developing its own features. The software will reportedly adapt to the user based on their usage patterns in order to bring more personalized information as well as “helpful ideas” on how to be more producting. This could even extend to the user interface itself adapting to the user.

A separate report by Korea’s ETNews earlier this week also suggests that the LG G3 will be both both dust-proof and water resistant.

LG could unveil the LG G3 as early as May or June in a bid to have it out before its competitors unveil their own flagships for the second half of the year.
