LG planning wearable stylus for mobile devices?

Rumoured LG wearable stylusWe just predicted that we would continue to see a number of innovative use of technology in the wearable space in 2014 and beyond. Smartwatches and fitness bands are but the beginning. Among the more interesting concepts are a wearable solar charger for your mobile devices and the Kiwi Move to name but two. It now looks like @evleaks has given us a look at yet another potential use for a wearable. The image shows what appears to be a stylus that can roll up into a bracelet when not in use.

There is little to go on with the pictures so conjecture is all we have to go on. LG may well offer it as an additional accessory for an upcoming device that supports a stylus. If so, why not simply provide a stylus and cradle for it on the device itself as is commonly done now? If anything, this stylus looks ackward to use.

Perhaps this stylus bracelet will also offer other functions. For example, it could provide some monitoring features much as the LG Lifeband Touch wristband does.

If nothing else, it’s good to see companies trying different things. Not everything that they come up will necessarily work but that does not mean it’s not worth trying. LG may learn some useful things from this experiment and apply them in a future wearable that proves far more useful.

There is also the possibility that there is more to this wearable than meets the eye. We’ll have to see if and when LG brings it to market.

Any thoughts as to what this could be? Feel free to chime in below.
