Samsung Galaxy F caught on camera several times

Rumoured Samsung Galaxy F

The oft-rumoured Samsung Galaxy F (also known as the Galaxy S5 Prime sometimes) made several appearances over the past few days. It all started when PhoneArena landed a couple of pictures of the device about a week ago. It then resurfaced next to the Galaxy S5, courtesy of the same purveyors of fine rumours, before the usually reliable @evleaks stepped in with a render of the alleged smartphone clad in a golden shade (seen above).

The Samsung Galaxy F is said to be somewhat smaller than the Galaxy S5 thanks in large part to narrower bezels. Despite being smaller, it could sport a slightly larger 5.3-inch display with the resolution bumped up to WQHD (2560×1440). Also on board are a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage and a 16MP camera with Optical Image Stabilization. Like the Galaxy S5, it will also be dust and waterproof.

Rumoured Samsung Galaxy F

While the Samsung Galaxy F has been the topic of rumours since last September when we first heard rumbles of a new line of premium devices, a launch date has remained elusive. Recent rumours now suggest it will take place at IFA 2014 in early September. The event, which Samsung has used to introduce the Galaxy Note since the first model was announced, could see the Korean company unveil not only the Galaxy Note 4 but also its own smartglasses (the Galaxy Glass or Gear Glass perhaps), the Galaxy F and perhaps more.
