Just weeks into the year, TELUS today announced that Midland and Penetanguishene in Ontario are the latest communities to get coverage.

“Our customers in Midland and Penetanguishene are now among the more than 28 million Canadians who enjoy access to the world’s fastest wireless technology from TELUS,” said Darryl Hutton, TELUS director of sales. “TELUS will continue to invest in expanding our network across Ontario to bring LTE to even more communities, part of our drive to put customers first in everything we do.”

While TELUS has stopped calling out average download speeds in its press releases, customers can expect to see speeds between 12 to 25Mbps on average with an LTE device.

TELUS offers a wide range of LTE smartphones including devices such as the Google Nexus 5, BlackBerry Z30, Nokia Lumia 1020 and the Samsung Galaxy S4. It also offers other devices, including tablets such as the Samsung GALAXY Note 8 and data sticks like the Huawei E3276 4G LTE Mobile Internet Key.

The TELUS LTE network now covers 80 percent of Canada’s population across approximately 260 markets.

Midland, ON – TELUS has brought the world’s fastest and most advanced wireless technology to Midland and Penetanguishene. This expansion of TELUS’ 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) service to these communities means residents can take advantage of dramatically faster wireless Internet speeds when surfing the web, reading emails, listening to music, watching videos, or using social media sites on an LTE-enabled smartphone or wireless device.

TELUS’ 4G LTE service, which offers customers wireless data (upload and download) speeds two to three times faster than previous technology, now covers 80 per cent of Canada’s population across 260 communities.
