TomTom to power MapQuest in new AOL partnership

MapQuest for AndroidTomTom today announced a new partnership with AOL by which Mapquest will now use TomTom’s extensive digital map database for its MapQuest.com website and its Android and iOS mobile apps.

With smartphones and tablets increasingly replacing dedicated GPS devices, TomTom has turned its attention to new market opportunities such as licensing its mapping and navigation tools and new devices such as the TomTom Runner Cardio GPS Sport Watch which recently launched in Canada.
