WordPress for Android adds support for Samsung Multi-Window

Wordpress for AndroidWordPress today announced that it has released an updated version of its Android app. Version 2.8 is not a major update but it does contain one new feature that many Samsung device owners will be able to take advantage of. It adds support for Samsung’s Multi-Window function.

The Multi-Window function is part of Samsung’s TouchWiz user interface. It is available on a range of devices ranging from Galaxy Note tablets to smartphones such as the Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S5 among others. As the name implies, it lets users simultaneously run two apps on the screen at the same time in a split-screen format. The catch (aside that it’s only available on certain Samsung devices) is that it only works with supported apps.

The full changelog for WordPress for Android version 2.8 is as follows:

  • Statistics performance improvements
  • Samsung Multi-Window is now supported
  • Better UI design on small tablets for the Notifications and Comments screen
  • New translations: Turkish, Traditional Chinese (partial) and English (United Kingdom)
  • Other minor improvements

WordPress for Android is a free download available through Google Play.
