ZTE teases “wide array of high-tech devices” for CES 2014

ZTEZTE has quite the device lineup planned for CES 2014. Promising “more than smartphones,” the company is not only bringing five new smartphones including a new flagship one but a new smartwatch, a phablet with dual-screen functionality and more.

“ZTE has been developing a portfolio of fantastic consumer electronics on top of the smartphones for which we’ve become well known,” said Mr. Zeng Xuezhong, ZTE EVP and Head of the Mobile Devices Division. “This year, we will be focusing on pairing unique designs with unparalleled technology in order to offer customers the best possible experience at an affordable price.”

The ZTE Grand S II is the company’s latest flagship smartphone. Billed as its “first high-precision voice phone,” it comes with voice technology that promises to enable voice recognition unlocking and voice-to-phone photography.

The ZTE Grand S II will be joined by the nubia 5S and nubia 5S mini powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core processors. The ZTE nubia 5S will come with a 5-inch Full HD (1080×1920) display and a 13MP camera capable of 4K Ultra HD video capture. The ZTE nubia 5S mini will sport a smaller 4.7-inch display and be available in “an array of colourful finishes.” ZTE will also offer the ZTE Sonata 4G, an affordable smartphone with a 1.4GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB of RAM, a 4-inch display, a 5MP camera with flash and a 1,780mAh battery.

ZTE will also unveil the Iconic phablet. Sporting a 5.7-inch HD display, it will be able to simultaneously display two applications (much like Samsung’s Multi Window feature does?). It will be powered by a quad-core processor and will support wireless charging.

ZTE will jump into the smartwatch fray with the BlueWatch. It promises to offer typical smartwatch features such as on-wrist app control, message notifications and social media updates as well as more health-related features such as a built-in pedometer.

We can expect to learn more about all these at CES 2014.
