Apple Stores to begin selling Apple Watch in two weeks

Apple WatchApple today confirmed rumours that its Apple Stores would soon begin to sell the Apple Watch. In a press release issued today, the company announced that in-store sales will begin in about two weeks. Only “some models” will be available but Apple did not expand on which these would be.

If recent rumours are correct, Apple will also offer a “Reserve and Pickup” service which will let customers reserve the Apple Watch of their choice online and pick it up at their nearest Apple Store. Only models available at the specific location will be available for reservations.

Describing the response to the Apple Watch as surpassing their expectations “in every way,” Apple also confirmed that it is “making great progress with the backlog of Apple Watch orders.” It now expects that all orders placed through May will ship to customers within two weeks with one exception. The pple Watch 42 mm Space Black Stainless Steel with Space Black Link Bracelet remains constrained and Apple did not provide an update as to when it expects to catch up on back orders for this model.

Apple also announced that it will expand Apple Watch availability to seven additional countries on June 26th. Customers in Italy, Mexico, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland and Taiwan will be the latest to be able to strap an Apple Watch to their wrists.
