When BlackBerry’s BBM messaging app landed on the Apple Watch earlier this month, we pointed out that major competitors such as Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp had yet to make similar moves. Fast forward a few days and Facebook has updated its Messenger app so that it will now work on the Apple Watch.
With watchOS 2.0, the Apple Watch now supports native apps. Messenger is the latest to offer this functionality. Messenger 38.0 enables you to send and receive voice clips, Likes and stickers. You can also use your Apple Watch to find Messenger contacts and conversations right from your wrist thanks to the Spotlight integration.
You can now also access Messenger on your iPad (as long as it’s running iOS 9).
Messenger for iOS is a free download from the App Store.
