With so much attention focused on the Apple Watch with the pre-order window about to open, Google yesterday reminded everyone that there are already plenty of Android Wear customization options already available. Not only is there a growing number of watch faces but there is also a large selection of wrist bands.
Function and fashion. The watch has always been a great mix of both, and with Android Wear, we’re working with an ecosystem of manufacturers and developers to help you get more done and dress things up, right on your wrist. Today we’re adding even more ways to express your personal style.
Aside from a growing selection of watches, there are now more than 1,000 different watch faces available. Along with the selection offered by each device manufacturer, there is a wide range of third party options available as well “from ones that match your clothes, to ones with napping cats, to ones that show the stars.” 141 of them are showcased on Google Play.
On the wristband side, Google also showcases new options from third party companies such as E3 Supply Co., Worn & Wound, andClockwork Synergy. It also reminds us that Android Wear watches use standard 22mm watch bands, making thousands of traditional watch bands available to you.
