IFA 2015: Alcatel GO WATCH smartwatch unveiled as GO PLAY smartphone companion

Alcatel GO WatchAlcatel OneTouch jumped into wearables earlier this year at the Consumer Electronics Show with the Alcatel OneTouch Watch. The company this week unveiled a second smartwatch at IFA 2015. Part of a new brand new GO family of devices, the GO WATCH is designed for “active users and always ready for action.” It is also designed as a companion device to the GO PLAY smartphone.

GO WATCH is the perfect companion for GO PLAY’s  adventures. It is waterproof, dustproof and shockproof. It is Android and iOS compatible and has top functionalities to match its robust good looks. It also notifies about SNS, SMS, emails, calls and weather. GO WATCH is 100% customizable with a  changeable front casing and wristband. Mix and match with your outfit of the  day!

Along with being rugged enough to go practically everywhere, the Alcatel GO WATCH comes with the ability to measure your emotions. Pressing the GO button triggers an emotion pulse measurement that uses input from the gyroscope, heart rate sensor and accelerometer to create an emotional graphic for you. You can then match it with a theme and share it on social networks or set it as your smartwatch’s wallpaper.

As far as specifications go, details are fairly light so far. We know that the Alcatel GO WATCH is powered by a Cortex-M4-based processor and Alcatel’s own proprietary operating system. The 1.22-inch LCD IPS display offers a resolution of 240 by 240 pixels. The 225mAh battery is good for between 2 and 5 days. It is compatible with both Android and iOS devices.

The Alcatel GO WATCH is also dust and waterproof. A specific IP rating was not provided though.
