Multiple price points for Huawei Watch?

Huawei WatchA rumour earlier this week suggested that Huawei was looking to sell its upcoming Huawei Watch for as much as US$1,000. New details have emerged that now indicate that this could only be partially true. It now appears that Huawei has decided to borrow a page from Apple’s playbook for the upcoming Apple Watch and offer its watch at multiple price points.

It now appears that the price points will be tied to the three variants of the Huawei Watch. Better yet, the company has confirmed that the base model will not be as expensive as we were led to believe. “$1,000 is definitely out of range of what the base model will cost,” a Huawei representative told 9to5Google.

Huawei has announced three colours but it turns out that it’s not quite as simple as choosing from Black, Gold or Silver. One variant will be offered in stainless steel and another in anodized black steel. The third, a gold variant, could pack as much as 85 grams (about 3 ounces) of 24 karat gold and that rumoured US$1,000 price.
