Only Watch 2015 raises over €10 million for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy

Only Watch 2015The Only Watch 2015 auction took place earlier today in Geneva, Switzerland. As in the past, the auction offered a range of one-of-a-kind watches. More than 40 timepieces, including a unique variant of the Frédérique Constant Horological Smartwatch, were offered. They ranged from models sporting a unique colour or material to completely unique designs that may never be seen again. By the time the gavel went down for the last time, the auction raised €10,430,798 (about US$11.2 million or CA$14.9 million).

Patek Philippe Minute Repeater Tourbillon Perpetual Calendar

The Patek Philippe Minute Repeater Tourbillon Perpetual Calendar set a new record for the most expensive wristwatch ever sold publicly. Expected to sell for between CHF700,000 and CHF900,000, it eventually sold for CHF7.3 million (about US$7.3 million or CA$9.7 million)!

Richard Mille RM 27-02 Tourbillon Rafael Nadal

The second-most expensive watch at Only Watch 2015 was the Richard Mille RM 27-02 Tourbillon prototype once worn by Rafael Nadal. It sold for CHF650,000 ((about US$650,000 or CA$860,000). Third was the FP Journe Tourbillon Souverain which sold for CHF550,000 (about US$550,000 or CA$730,000).

Tudor Heritage Black Bay One

The Tudor Heritage Black Bay One sold for a very impressive CHF375,000 (about US$375,000 or CA$500,000), more than 100 times its low estimate. Someone clearly wanted this unique variant, considering that very similar but not unique models can be bought for just over US$3,000 (about CA$4,000).

Frédérique Constant Horological Smartwatch for Only Watch 2015

As for the Frédérique Constant Horological Smartwatch, the first smartwatch to be sold at Only Watch, it went for a very respectable CHF14,000 (about US$14,000 or CA$18,500).

Proceeds of Only Watch 2015 will benefit the Monaco Association Against Muscular Dystrophy.
