Concept Sunday: Hexagon Wearable

Hexagonal WearableMotorola caused quite a stir when it unveiled the first Moto 360 back in 2014. It stood out from other smartwatches thanks to its round display and clean lines. It was for a time your only choice if you wanted a smartwatch with a round display but there are now a growing number of alternatives. Perhaps it’s time for smartwatch manufacturers to look at different shapes. We’ve already featured a number of such concepts such as the ERGO smartwatch on Concept Sunday. Today we bring you the  Hexagon Wearable by Jeremy Edelblut.

Hexagonal Wearable

As the name implies, the Hexagon Wearable sports a hexagonal display. Running what appears to be a custom operating system, the interface has been adapted to take advantage of the unique shape.

Hexagonal Wearable

The Hexagon Wearable incorporates a flexible display. It wraps down around one of the six sides, showing the time. It can also presumably display notifications and perhaps have other functions such as acting like a large button to help navigate through the features of the watch.

There is no word on specifications but the Hexagon Wearble should not need much more than what is currently available except for the display.

A range of bright and colourful (and presumably interchangeable) straps complete the watch. Combined with the cheerful interface, the Hexagon Wearable would certainly make for an eye-catching smartwatch.
