Good news today for Canadians looking forward to getting their hands on the Samsung Gear VR Innovator Edition for Galaxy S6. Expected to arrive on July 17th, it has landed in Canada a few days early.
Developed in conjunction with Oculus, the Gear VR Innovator Edition will allow Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge owners to explore a range of virtual worlds courtesy of a selection of videos, short films, games and other content available through the Oculus Store.
Using the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge’s own Quad HD Super AMOLED display, the Samsung Gear VR Innovator Edition offers a 96 degree field of view. An array of sensors including an accelerator, gyrometer and proximity (mount/unmount detection) sensor to track head movements improve the virtual experience over cheaper alternatives such as the cardboard ones. It weighs just over 400 grams with the Galaxy S6 installed.
The Samsung Gear VR Innovator Edition for S6 is now available through Best Buy Canada for CA$249.99. As we write this, Best Buy promises that if you order today, you will have it in your hands on Thursday, July 16th.
