YouTube videos land on your Android Wear smartwatch

Video Android Wear & YouTubeYou can now add watching YouTube videos to the list of things you can do with your Android Wear smartwatch. The new capability comes courtesy of a new app called Video for Android Wear&YouTube from developer appfour.

The app lets you search through YouTube using voice commands with a simple interface then letting you scroll through the results. An in-app purchase introduces the additional feature of letting you select channels to show on your watch.

As Android Wear smartwatches do not come with speakers, you’ll need to pair your smartwatch to some Bluetooth headphones or speakers to get audio. Android Wear & YouTube also supports casting to any Chromecast or Android TV device.

Keep in mind that watching videos on your smartwatch will likely drain your battery quite quickly.

Video for Android Wear&YouTube is compatible with all Android Wear smartwatches including the Motorola Moto 360, LG G Watch, LG Watch Urbane and ASUS ZenWatch.
