Concept Sunday: Bracelet Time 2 Piece

Bracelet Time 2 Piece conceptWatches are first and foremost tools to tell the time. But, as we so often see, they are often also fashion accessories that easily blur the line into the world of jewelry. The Bracelet Time 2 Piece concept, designed by Israel’s Shirly NehaliMeresman, certainly appears to do that quite well.

Designed for “women who know what they want, and how to get it,” it is at first glance a metal bracelet with an interesting shape and a couple of decorative elements. But a closer look reveals that these latter decorations are in fact two dials, one for hours and one for minutes.

They are sophisticated, piquant and glamorous. The inspiration was “neither day nor night.” “Not so and not otherwise.”

The two round dials, positioned to be both comfortable and still tell the time easily, feature a very minimalist design with what appears to be either a mono-coloured textured background or a mottled one. More interesting are the hands that take on very unusual shapes.

The Bracelet Time 2 is made of metal. As explains NehaliMeresman, the bracelet will feel cold at first but contact with the skin will arm it up and and give it a sense of “prestige, strength and durability.” A number of similar designs of the Bracelet Time 2 Piece concept are shown off. Some look like molten gold while others take on a more angular, looking vaguely like printed circuit boards. It could well be that each is unique.
