Huawei Watch smartwatch revealed ahead of MWC 2015 announcement

Huawei WatchHuawei first revealed plans to launch an Android Wear smartwatch earlier this year. While the company did not reveal exactly when it would launch such it, a company teaser just days later suggested it would do so at MWC 2015. Two new videos posted today on Huawei’s own YouTube channel have now effectively confirmed that the company will indeed unveil the Huawei Watch at Mobile World Congress.

The first video, titled “Huawei Watch: Your Ultimate Companion to Make It Possible,” reveals an elegant round watch which uses the full round display (unlike the Moto 360) and a variety of straps including leather and metal ones. Huawei has also designed a number of elegant watch faces.

The video does not reveal everything but does show that it will come with a heart rate sensor and sapphire glass covering a 42 millimeter stainless steel unibody case. A digital crown will act as a Home button. It also confirms that the Huawei Watch will use Android Wear.

The Huawei Watch is the ultimate companion that will accompany you throughout life. Its timeless design makes it suitable for any occasion. Within this classic watch lies the most advanced functions, including smart tracking to monitor your daily activities and assistance around the clock with Google Now. Make it possible and stay smart within timelessly.

The second video focuses on the design of the watch.

The Huawei Watch is designed with the sophisticated consumer in mind, a product that is suitable for business, casual and also sporty occasions. Sticking to the roots of a classic watch made from the finest craftsmanship, the Huawei Watch is intricately designed with advanced technical components that make it your ultimate smart companion. Stay connected through instant notifications, monitor your health through a state-of-the-art activity tracker, and receive assistance around the clock with Google Now.

It reveals that Huawei will offer slimmer bands aimed primarily at women.

While the videos themselves are not great, Huawei appears to have designed a very elegant smartwatch.

While there may not be a choice in case size, three colours will be available: Silver, Gold and Black.

Huawei will host an event on March 1. It’s almost certain now that the company will indeed announce the Huawei Watch then. It will also hopefully reveal availability and pricing details as well.

If Huawei pulls down the videos, you can also catch them on our YouTube channel.
